"I treat each piece of wood individually,
working to get the optimal results each piece has within itself."

Bev has been teaching art for over 25 years and is an active member of the Atlantic Shore Wood turners Association. Her interest in wood came as a result of working beside her grandfather, a Master Carpenter with the railroad. From him she learned to use the tools of his trade along with his love of all things wooden.

A love of puzzles is evident here as well as Bev's understanding of the flowing forms of animals and people and how they relate to the natural free form of the wood itself. She turns, carves, cuts, and finishes her creations using a variety of knives, hand and power tools and sanding devices to create smoothly rounded contours, with soft flowing lines. Bev uses Spalted Maple, Mahogany, Walnut, Poplar, Burl and Purple Heart to name a few of the woods as well as found pieces of unidentifiable species.

Just recently Bev has been experimenting with another media Glass.  Using a kiln to fuse and form pieces, she is using Dichotic glass to make one of a kind jewelry creations.  As you might expect she is also looking for ways to combine these two diverse media into new and exciting works of art for your pleasure.

Her work is carried on consignment at Womencrafts in Provincetown , MA and at the Mer-Mac Gallery in Point Pleasant , NJ .
